Becoming Organic
We were recently certified organic for our pasture, hay, chickens, eggs, and perennials.

Our dairy herd will begin the final year of transition to organic this summer (2008).

Our Cows
Our 40-cow pasture based herd is comprised of primarily registered and grade Holsteins. Current cross breeding practices include New Zealand Holsteins, Jersey & Normande breeds. We have also adjusted our calving intervals for seasonal milking.

No BST or hormones are used in the herd. No antibiotic treated cows are included in the milking cows. Heifers are raised on pasture and in the barn, on colostrum, raw milk and hay. Once separated from their mothers, they are bottle fed, then nipple bucket fed before weaning.

Certified Organic Chickens and Eggs
Our chickens are free to roam, eating a diet of certified organic feed, grasses in the growing season, bugs and more.

We sell our certified organic eggs in our farm stand.

Our Flowers and Perennials
We grow a wide variety of hardy, certified organic perennials, which are divided in the spring to sell along with annuals started in a local greenhouse. Fresh cut flowers can frequently be found for sale in our farm stand during the summer.

Our Grass/milk fed Veal
We raise the bull calves from the dairy herd on pasture with nurse cows until they are 3 to 4 months old. The result is a very tender, melt in your mouth meat. Contact us to order.

First and second cutting of our certified organic hay is available. Local Delivery only.
